Type R and VTEC owners

Can you blame them though? Emissions laws suck. If there wasn't an issue with emissions we would probably see a vtec screaming type r.

They could have built a new engine rather than go along with the K20, they have the engineering ability to make something emission friendly, but they don't seem the same company anymore, they rather go with the crowd and the easy and crude route of turbo-charging, something they hate and said would never do, how things change...

Not only that but there cars have lost the attraction to me, the Civic for starters has torsion bar, Honda's were renowned for using double wishbones, but they left that route and started chugging out rubbish from swindon who are also killing the Accord just because its now made in Japan, the only worthy Honda left that I would consider buying. New cars in general are unappealing to me with everything being electron-ised and lacking any mechanical feel or involvement.

Just purchased an Fn2 for me and the missis for our daily, picking it up next week pritty excited tbh.
For now a crappy garage pic....

I just can't get to grips with the story really after also owning a Type R.

thats what im struggling to understand too. but i have never ran mismatching or budget tyres on my car since owning it.

but none of us were there and these things happen. as mentioned, its a shame to see it happen.

My second ATR had a different tyre on each corner. It pulled left, then right, it was pretty dangerous to drive I'd say. I had to drive it to Brum and back and I distinctly remember it being a hellish journey, as it was raining and the car simply didn't feel planted or that safe. Shortly after I fitted RE002's all round and it transformed the car (as I knew it would).

I know I in particular harp on about running decent tyres, but it really does make a huge difference. I can only jump to conclusions but I guess the OP had mismatching tyres on, it was raining, he was tired, the car started understeering and perhaps he lifted off the throttle. In an EP3 that can sometimes be enough to lose traction across all 4 wheels especially in the rain and with poor tyres.

All incorrect, have posted in my other thread aswell.

I was wide awake, car was perfect, have spoke to police today and they have confirmed there was oil on the road which caused the accident. :/

The car had Bridgestone potenzas RE040 up front with over 4mm thread and the rear was pirelli and maxxis, mismatched but both over 5mm. Atleast now I know what caused the accident.

Today I've done my own DIY clutch damper delete kit on the FN2.

I'm hoping it will give me better control over the clutch!

Gutted for you mate :( same thing happened to be recently but luckily nothing else was on the road. Span a full 360, thought I had blown a tyre or something.

Luckily it just span out and I didn't his anything but not fun!

Feel for you man!

Do EP3's not come with tweeters as standard?! I have a premier edition but I've noticed audio lacking treble and where you'd normally find tweeters by the wing mirrors it's just a blank piece of plastic that clips off with nothing behind.

Looks like £35 for the pair for different covers. :o

No they don't. I just went to Honda and bought mine, think they were only about a tenner each :) I put infinity components in the front and made a new parcel shelf which I put infinity 6x9s and a 10 inch shel mounted sub :)

There was a lot of MDF used and the fronts were a huge ball ache because the speakers were too big for the holes in the doors. Had to fabricate my own spacers but now it's done it's MUCH better than stock :)

My mates just offered this to me, he built it from scratch and the car is in fantastic condition and engine bay is Immaculate. Running some tasty mods and power aswell.

B18C Conversion with S4C Ek9 Type R Gearbox with LSD.
Shell has 77k on it and the engine has only done around 7000 miles since being fully rebuilt.
