Type R and VTEC owners

Hello,

I've been looking at Honda Accord Type S' for a while now, along with Mazda 3 Sports as my next car. Budget around £3-4k. I almost ruled out the Accord as I struggled to find any under £5k without moon miles. Until this one cropped up on autotrader...

Too good to be true? Could there be something wrong?

I wasn't looking to buy until early next year, but with this coming up in the colour I want, for the price I want and with such low miles. It seems to good an opportunity to turn down...

was this to free up some cash ross? if you still wanted a fun car, a 4k FL EP3 would probably do the job and be cheap to run. especially if you are managing 30+ mpg out of that thirsty volvo of yours :p

That is the 2.0i Type-S, which is only 153bhp and thus less desirable.

Unless you specifically want the half-leather and suspension, don't discount the Exec models too. They share the same engine (in 2.0 and 2.4) and have equally as many toys and full leather.

Yep need to sell up to put some money to one side for a house deposit.

I really like the EP3, and you can pick up some really nice examples for £4k too. But I'm after something a little more refined, with slightly lower running costs. I can insure the Accord for less, not sure how it compares MPG, tax and tyre costs however, but these will be minimal with the amount of miles I do...

Yep it's the 2.0i Type S I'm after, just to keep running costs down that little bit more! I've checked out the exec models, but prefer the look of the Type S.

FN2s are funny, they hate having intakes changed around and messed with. IIRC it messes up the fueling?

The stock intake is the best, in the sense that.. if you change it, you'll end up having to get it mapped somewhere, requiring a flashpro etc.

My advice is to leave it alone for now. Unless you're really set on getting more noise!

Changed some bulbs tonight, 5 LED sidelights and rear number plate bulbs, Ultra bright reverse bulbs, 4300k dipped beam bulbs (not HIDs), heres some pics if your interested....

^^ Sell it to me ;)

Do they handle well these things?

Still want one, got 9k saved up but need a bit more as I want to pay off my R1 before investing in a car.

Mates got a problem with his EP3 CTR. Central locking is dead as is the CD Player. The only problem he has outstanding is a sticky/sometimes non-functioning boot lock. Fuse popped so he replaced it but it popped again right away. Is it possible the jammed boot lock/catch is causing the fuse to pop when trying to lock the car?

Not had it a week so that won't be happening.
They handle very well indeed, and if you know what your doing in a car, not much will keep with you round a few bends.

Ive got Uniroyal Rainsport 2 on mine, no wheel spin in the dry (even in first) and better in the wet than most tyres so they say.
Potenza's are also a popular option, which I also have on my XJR, never had any problems.

i had rainsport 2 on my fiesta st. they were diabolical tyres. when you get the chance to change to something better, do so.

potenza is renowned as the tyre of choice. it is the OE fit for a reason.

i had RE040 on the car as standard [the ep3 OE fit]
i then fitted RE050A which are vastly superior in every way

none of them come close to AD08s though.
