Type R and VTEC owners

Aye, busy trying to catch DC2s as their kpro'd bread bins have quite the deficit :p

Just got insurance sorted for this year with the DC2 on a limited mileage 5k policy without any no claims, but using a mirrored no claims bonus. This is with Greenlight for under £400.

Don't even bother trying as a classic or future classic, none of the specialists will go near a Teg and those that do quote more like £600 :(

M135i insurance on the other hand will only be £200 :D:D

£200, eh? Have you spread your ncb?

Lip installed. Much better.

Gibbo How was 3000GT btw. Always like the looks of them :p I was considering one over DC2 but.... U know Honda :P

A true wafting missile, think Merc waftability, but with 4WD security and Japenese looks and sound.

For a very heavy car the way it accelerated was pretty astonishing, far quicker than one would expect a car so heavy with 4WD. But it had cc's, torque and a slippery shape.

Handling was secure and planted, but it was by no means a focused driving machine like a Honda or a BMW, towards the limits the handling was a bit meh, but drive within those limits and it was surprisingly good, but not the ability of say an EVO. Interior wise it was pretty superb actually, soft leather dash, soft leather doors, infact was it even Japanese inside.

I got lucky with mine, trouble free, fitted an intake, downpipe, exhaust, was probably circa 340BHP and similar torque, hence why it could move. Fuel was also good, no worse than Mondeo's ST220, quite amazing as it had over 100 more horsepower, though the ST220 was a better handling chassis, just not as secure.

Most are dogs now though and these cars can throw bills easily way more than you paid for the car, so be warned, there is so much to break on them, mine was reliable but I heard plenty of horror stories during my ownership.

No messing around rich...doing it right! Are you going to get the rear lip spoiler too?

I witnessed the birth of this, I am sure he will get a rear lip. Though we took a venture out in the M3 during the installation of this genuine Honda item, we nearly were returning very late when I heard a loud clunk and then made myself believe something must be wrong. Was either a clunk I can't replicate or it was a rock hitting underside of car or my gym bag or some in the rear. Problem with a stripped car, the smallest things can sounds like the biggest things.

Is that a genuine lip?

100% genuine.
Si at Hendy performance got it in for me. The fit is excellent.
The genuineness of the part is superb. +5BHP

Was tempted tbh, would have been close to a grand to get the pair. The ducktail style low level spoiler is nice but I quite like the OEM high level spoiler but its so expensive and not available new.

Not planning any other appearance mods for now. Potentially may sort the brakes out. Just some nice pads and braided lines. No rush.

The ducktail spoiler is the one I meant, looks great. Really not keen on the 'wing' high level spoiler, much to fussy and doesnt fit the simple proportions of the car (I feel the same way about spoilers on the mx5, lip or ducktail or nothing at all, unless racecar). I know genuine honda parts are pricey but I think you can get some very good fibreglass copies, pre painted in any colour you like from a few different ebay sellers. If I recall from threads on s2ki way back the fit and finish was excellent, may be a much cheaper option whilst still looking the same. Heresy perhaps to go non genuine....but if its that much cheaper and fits as well...

Agree with the simple look. I think the high level oem spoiler looks superb with the hardtop but with the top down, a spoiler looks a bit odd.

Something will come up I'm sure. No non genuine ebay tat will be adorning my vehicle though. My dream of a terrifyingly large Voltex carbon GT wing with enormous uprights is wild and romantic, but it is a silly idea that will not work in the real world.

I wanted an S with the OEM lip on ideally but it wasn't a deal breaker. Expensive addition maybe but it was always going to be the first thing I did if the car I bought didn't have one.

For the record also, I have 0 points on my licence. Clearly my EP3 was not fast enough.

Mirrored no claims, so keep the NCB on the M135i with one company and the other company will mirror it, so £589 for both with protected NCB, lowish excess etc etc.

Going from this logic, it is clearly obvious my Mustang was at least twice the speed of many of my other cars, as my six points were all earnt in ownership of the Mustang whilst living down south......

So it was either that V8 or those Southern police officers.........
