Type R and VTEC owners

Anyone have an FK8?

I know the looks are marmite but I really like them - I actually prefer it to the FL5 which looks a bit long and odd... but it's still nice. FL5 and FK8 seem largely similar performance wise.

Everyone says it's incredible to drive, I should try one...

I had one from new, I'd certainly try before you buy if you haven't already. I've no doubt they are a great driver's car for enthusiasts ... but for me there were a couple of things I didn't like: the front end 'hop' if you accelerated too hard away from a junction or it was damp/wet. The car has 30 profile 'spray on tyres' as standard, which becomes apparent on bad roads. Some owners change to higher profile tyres and live with the speedo being slightly out. The digital dash looks a little bit cheap and the stereo is a bit laggy and sounds poor. Nothing huge but it did nark me.

There's also a widely known intermittent issue with not being able to change into 2nd gear. Honda denied there was an issue but it happened to me within the first 400 miles, just once however. Some owners complained bitterly and finally received replacement gearboxes only for the issue to reappear.

I had one for 2.5 years. Great car, but obviously try drive one. My only complaints are largely the same, like the stereo. Enjoyable and really rewarding car to drive. A practical thing too.

I'm now the proud owner of a type r fn2! At the moment it's taking some getting used to. Previously I had a bmw 320 TD which was remapped but this feels slower because of the lack of torque but then quicker and longer lasting because of the VTEC. It has a milltek cat back which is driving me insane! It's too loud on cold start and too loud droney when on the motorway. I didn't realize at the time not only was it decatted but it has no silencers. So I'll be going to the exhaust specialist end of Feb to get a silencer put in? Seriously suffering buyers guilt at the moment, one half is saying what have I done another it looks well lush.

Those £20k plus FD2's are still for sale, 6 months after listing.

Meanwhile they're changing hands anywhere from £13k to £19k. Torgue GT even have one listed for a decent price.

I don't know why people are living in dreamland with sometimes £22k+ price tags when most people will just buy an FK2 or even FK8 instead.

Just inquired about a new CTR !!....

No demo cars at dealers.....
Unknown quantity available or coming to the UK.
So can place an order/deposit, but no idea if or when you might get one.....

So it's Déjà vu GR Yaris........

The world is **** up.... Manufactures want to sell their best/ most expensive version presumably, customers are queuing up, but it can't happen....

It's one owner, I thought it was new when someone sent it to me before, but it's delivery miles.
LOL, I guess a cancelled order when the person saw the price..... don't you just love a franchised dealership when they try and flip them for an increased profit.
