Type R and VTEC owners

I'd say check the entire width of the windscreen just under the upper moulding for rust.

Every FN2 Civic I have ever replaced a windscreen on has had rust there where the hard plastic moulding rubs/rests against the roof

Much obliged, too. I'm just getting itchy feet with the Forester; had it for a while now and fancy something slightly more sporting for summer. Going to look at a Mk1 TT V6 just out of curiosity (more of a GT, but I like the engine) but the Type R is a far more interesting, enticing proposition.

How much are you budgeting for an FN2 out of interest?
 
I'll post this in here as well, 2009 Honda Accord 2.4 CU2 with a Manual.

Car has exceeded my expectations, it drives superbly very comfortable, just sticks to the corners, i'm convinced it has more than 200bhp, the acceleration is rapid for a heavy car with 200bhp

Looks nice but just don't look at the MPG. My old 2.4 was THIRSTY, I averaged about 20mpg over the lifetime of my ownership - it's the main reason I sold it tbh.
 
Well certainly not a fast Type R or anything like that i picked up a MK6 Type S recently.

although i like cars Im not a car enthusiast (i dont own the money to be picky about what i drive) i owned an old 2002 focus that had to be scrapped after 6 years and i literally had a shoestring budget (£1600) as im saving for my house deposit (moving in May)

I just wanted something that mechanically would work well to get me into 2019 while i need all my savings for the house. Always liked the looks of this gen Civic and i think its aged very well

I picked up this 1.8L 2007 Type S GT (panoramic sun roof and Cruise Control) 82k miles (cat D insurance) for £1550, im pretty chuffed with how much more modern it is vs the focus, drives very nice, £1550 isnt much money for a car and this has some good kit for it. Its a bit rough around the edges (some dings dents and scratches) but i dont think ive done bad at this price. Previous owners have fitted the facelift grill, carbon wrapped the Spoiler and rear roof section and added some red brembo calipers. Disks looked brand spanking new as well.

This really is a case of beggars cant be choosers.

Great for the money, not bad at all with only 82k.

Mines on 140k now (Type-S GT in ginger). It has a really really hard life. Last year I replaced the front shocks, top mounts and drop-links and I have just swapped the clutch. Nothing too major. Unfortunately the Input Shaft Bearing is kaput and making a right racket in the gearbox. This used to be common on previous gen Civic and Jazz, so I think I'm just unlucky. Going to fit a used gearbox and run it into the ground some more. The kit level for the money is very nice and they're pretty solid cars if you don't abuse cars like me. It'll go much further than 2019 I'm sure, I've had mine 5 years soon.
 
Took the S2000 out for the first time in a few months today, still not really gelling with this one so will be selling it once the weather picks up a bit :(

Shame as loved the first one I had, not sure if it’s differences with the facelift models that make it feel so different, shame though.

I have just been looking at these for a summer roof down toy, what dont you gel with? I had one in 2011 and found it awsome although it was modified

Since you're in Wales go to pro speed in Cardiff for the exhaust. They have a massive reputation for high quality custom exhausts at good prices. Not so sure on the intake. There are some k&n on eBay for your car but I've no idea if they're cheaper elsewhere.

I think it’s partly down to getting older, liking a more comfy drive lol.

Also first one was an earlier one and just felt more planted on the road, this one tens to feel a bit floaty at higher speeds.

Don’t get me wrong it’s still fun, maybe have just outgrown it :( (or im just older and boring now)

Other factor is my wife has a bad back and the Honda just kills it so she can’t go in it, no real point havin a weekend car you can’t use!
