Hi guys,
I need a couple of new rear tyres for my C30. The factory fit tyre size for my wheels is 215/45 18 93W, but there are very few premium brand tyres in this size and prices are £150 upwards per tyre.
What seems like a popular choice on Volvo forums is to fit 225/40 profile instead. This opens up a much larger choice of premium tyres at much more reasonable prices, my favourite so far being the Continental ContactSport5 at £98ea. The only issue is that the load index is one step down (but speed rating one step up) at 92Y.
Would this tiny difference cause any issues or should I find a tyre that meets the minimum ratings? Sorry if its a silly question but I've only ever stuck to factory spec tyres up until now.
