lo all,

G/fs 1.6 mk4 gold has always had Pirelli 6000 tyres on all four corners and handled very well in all conditions.

However, the car recently had a service and they replaced the front 2 tyres with Goodyears because thats all they do!

Handling is now utter pap, it constantly feels like im driving on ice, braking is now terrifying and taking the local bypass at anything above 70mph makes you feel like your about to go flying off the bends. Its quite a big difference as i once did the same road at 90mph on the way to the hospital. (yes i know i shouldnt be going 70mph anyway!)

Are they known for being bad tyres or could my problem be something else?

Would it make any difference if i swapped the back Pirellis for the goodyears on the front?

Thanks

It depends on which Goodyears they are.

Goodyear make both exceptional and.... average tyres. They've probably fitted GT2's or something which are far from amazing. Mind you, they must be truely terrible if you notiec the difference between them and P6000's which themselves are hardly good.
