Tyre related question

Hi,

On my BMW 335i I have:-

225/35/r19 88Y (FRONT)
255/30/r19 91Y (REAR)

what's the difference in 88Y or 91Y, should they be different from front to rear?

They refer to the Load Rating of the tyre.

I imagine as long as the rating for each tyre exceeds the maximum weight that corner is likely to be, then you are within safe limits.

I think it means that the rear tyres can support more weight/higher psi

Good call. I have just swapped from RFT's on my e89, from Bridgestones to Eagle F1 A2's.

Such a better drive now. Hoping it won't be too much of a headache if I need to get some warranty work done.

Looking at the side of your existing tyres will pretty much confirm that ...

Yeah they're the right size, I'm just super nervous about getting the wrong thing
