Hi All,
Want to start this thread by stating:
I went onto eBay the other day and spotted 2x 215/45 R16 Continental ContiPremium Contact2's for fairly cheap (£25+£10 postage) - I happily nabbed these as I thought, cool, that's a bit of a bargain.*
Today they arrived, and although at first I didn't think the description had "repaired" however I messaged the seller before buying "Are these repaired and are they in good condition", he completely waived over the repaired part and said "Yes, these tyres are in good condition". With that I bought the tyres without reading the description again (Not sure if he could have edited the description in the time it took me to see his message and then buy the tyres (Was about 8-9 hours space).
Now, on the repair on the inside of the tyre, it seems to have a "BSAU 159" sticker on it, which by the looks of it shouldn't do because that only seems to cover the main tread of the wheel and not next to/part of the sidewall.
So - I have two questions.

- I did not know this tyre was repaired
- *I know that they were cheap and took the risk so don't want any "what did you expect for so and so"

- Is this repair legal/illegal? I couldn't find anything regarding legality of tyre repairs, however this repair seems rather dangerous and I'm not willing to run the car on it.
- Would it be worth disputing on paypal if the user does not want to accept return? It seems a bit unfair for it to be said that it's "repaired and tested" but not that it is a major sidewall repair.
