Tyre wear question - why just inside edge?

Looking at an Audi for my mother today. Had a quick look last night and noticed the two front tyres are worn a lot more on the inside edge than the outside.

Checked both front tyres and both have this uneven wear.

I assume one side might indicate a worn bearing, but why both?

Ta :)

Excessive toe out or negative camber are the usual suspect. Tracking will sort the former, the latter is generally a symptom of something like a worn balljoint or top mount (unless the owner is a drift **** who has deliberately increased the amount of negative camber)

I have the same prob because my car is quite low. I've just got some negative camber bolts, and fitted em but how do they work? I need to find someone to properly set em up though.

The bolts usualy have an eccentric shank, so by turning them you move the relative locations of the upright and the strut. You will need to get them set up somewhere that has a full suspension geometry test station. Most of the larger tyre centers should be able to do this.

Cheers for the replies.

The car is an 02 Audi 1.9tdi and completely standard so I can only assume the tracking is out.

Going up for a proper look and drive later.

Ta :)
