My sisters focus needs tyres, i've checked the usual suspects on the net but cant find much for some reason.

Size fitted is 195/60 R15 (H speed rated) which seems to be less common and mroe expensive than 195/65 R15, so i might advise she gets them instead.

Any recommendations - need to be good all round tyres that last as her hubby does silly mileage to work and back every day in it.

My lease company fit michelin energy's to the Leon 1.9TDI. They seem amply grippy of a car with this level of performance and would suit a focus down to the ground i would imagine. I do very high mileage and do not drive my car sympothetically, and i get 35,000 average from the fronts, and 70,000 from the rears before they hit the markers.

Deffo use them again if i had to run a private car over lots of mileage :)

Are they made of diamond!? :p

I agree that the Michelin Energy is probably one of the better tyres for the job.

Im still on the original set, but they are getting illegal now, car is reading 71100 miles  I dont actually know what these things are made of.

very hard rubber which is why most michelin tyres are useless when it comes to grip especially in wet weather :)

I know Ford swapped from 195/55 to 60 at some stage as the 55 was even less common, but not sure about using 65.

If you've got a Costco account they do the Michellin Pilot Primacy for £65 ish a corner, which other places usually want for £85, last time I checked they had a 20% discount if you were to get 4 as well.

They swapped at the facelift if I recall correctly.
