Tyres for the snow

No idea I'm afraid but I suspect any tyres designed for snow/slush will be aimed at the motorcross bikes, so they might not come in suitable sizes.

You could always do what the ice racers do and put nails through a cheap Chinese tyre.

You can't use metal studs in the UK, you can use plastic though.. I don't know of any MC tyres that allow studding which is not to say they don't exist, just that I don't know of any :D

Saying that, didn't you spend a fair bit of time making the bmw tidy? Would be a shame to skuff it up..

Loving that busa!
Unless as said above you go for mx tyres i doubt youl get benefit from lesser tyres.
I rode in snow today on the GT550 with blah blah Bridgestone "dolls head" rubber compound, had a few wheel spins but otherwise fine. Its why i got the little donkey though, I dont want to ride the gsxr in this weather and the GT is so stable and low and under powered and the brakes are carp, makes for a perfect winter snow bike!

Called my local place, I am well snowed in so anything has to be walkable then i can change them in the garage, they didn't have anything wide enough for the BMW

Oh and the missus gave me the 'your joking right' look when I said what i was doing :p
