Bog standard tyre thread, need a pair of 225/45/R17

There's load of choice on Blackcircles and camskills, I don't want ditch finders but at the same time not something will stick to the road but wear out in no time at all. The car just has the stock ones that came with it from new which are OK but not great in the winter.

I paid about £115 fitted for a CS3 in that size a couple of months ago, looks like they're still around in that price. People seem to really like the new AS2 too.

Hankook Evo's are good tyres too but they tend to be priced too close to the likes of the continental / goodyear to make it worth buying some nowadays.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2's are about £80 in that size I think? They're a good tyre, but I think you'll do better to get Continentals, they wear exceptionally well, where as the cheaper tyres (like RS2's) can have as much grip but wear out faster, and are only £20-25 less.

I have just bought some Pirrelli P Zero Asimmetrico for just under £400 fitted from black circles, I must say they are providing more grip than my previous Bridgestone Potenza RE50 that were on previously. They get the thumbs up from me, this was for 225/45/R17.

I had Dunlops Sp1 on already and like I say there were OK but felt in the cold that they were lacking grip. Having seen a lot of positive reviews I went for the Uniroyal RS2 in the end. I'll fit them tomorrow hopefully.

I live in Scotland so they are ideal for this climate (well when the rain returns!)

Just done a track day on a set of the sport contact 3s in exactly your size - I run them on the daily driver and can highly recommend them.
