Hi Guys,

Am looking to take off the Bridgestone Runflats currently on my car and replace them with Goodyear F1 Asymmetric2

The cheapest I have found so far is from www.tigertyres.co.uk
(£765 for mobile fit)

The only review I can find of them is from one lady but otherwise the only mention is of others asking for opinions.

Have any of you heard of this company?

Thanks in advance

I need 255/30/R19 Y91 and 225/35/R19 Y88

Have tried black circles, Camskills, national tyres but tiger tyres were cheapest

I'm sure I checked somewhere else but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Edit: also checked my tyres and tyre shopper

It's in German and you'd have to organise fitting yourself, but www.koenig-felgen.de will deliver them for €730 // £618

You can pay with PayPal too, so nice and easy :)

I've used these people before and they're ruddy cheap!

Have you not tried one of the local independents not kwik fit, our local one can generally beat the price on most tyres including fitting.

Tbh everyone tells me to steer clear of kwik fit :p and according to their website they only do run flats.

A colleague is going to a local tyre place tomorrow so I've asked if she could check for me as she can't remember their name.

Thanks for the advice so far guys :)

Help!

I arranged a fitting through asda tyres with Halfords and they have called saying they won't fit the tyres because they are not run flats.

I have read so many times that people have taken the run flats off and just had normal tyres so I'm not sure why Halfords won't do it?

Any advice?

Because as a general principle Halfords don't know what they're talking about although the people that work there seem to think they do.

Tell them to fit them or you'll find someone who will - it's a simple as that. I'd suggest you don't take it to any big chain garage though as the people who work at a lot of these tend to be jobsworths who are clueless. Should be plenty of smaller tyre places around you.

Or you could just tell them you've spoken to BMW who confirm that although they strongly recommend runflats, it isn't mandatory to fit them.

I just called them back and they said they've done some research online blah blah blah something about the suspension blah blah they won't fit them so I've said ok i will cancel the order.

I had tried local places and they couldn't get stock but if I supplied the tyres they would fit them. Only trouble was I couldn't find any stock of the ones I need/want as I needed to get it sorted by Tuesday.

etyres?

Used them in the past and they were great.

Could try Lovetyres as well although I've not used them.

Love tyres were the cheapest but they only had one of the rears and still haven't got back to my email about when further stock is due. (Couldn't call at the time)

Planning to call them to check, then call the local garage that said previously they can fit them and make sure first that they aren't going to have a hissy

Although etyres list Goodyear they don't seem to stock them in the size I need :/

Oh so what they've done is seen a few speculative posts on a forum with some people saying "OMG YOU HAVE TO FIT RUNFLATS BECAUSE BMW OBVIOUSLY DESIGNED THE SUSPENSION TO HAVE THEM AND IF YOU DON'T YOU'LL SLIDE OFF THE ROAD AND DIE" as if it's some F1 car with minute tolerances.

£620ish next day delivered from Lovetyres. Then just 50-60quid for fitting

I still find it insane that this is the norm for tyre fitting. Back home in Norwich it was a fiver a wheel at more than one garage.

That is pretty much what he said lol. "Oh it makes the ride softer so if a car suddenly pulls out in front of you, you might have an accident" he also said "it makes the ride horrible" to which I laughed and said it already is.

"Oh you won't have a spare" no true but you can only drive at 50mph on a run flat with a puncture and for only a certain amount of miles anyway.

Local garage can fit all four for £72 so I shall ring love tyres when their lines are next open and speak to someone useful!

They obviously thought "oh look, it's a woman we can convince her she has to have run flats"

I'm afraid I can't help with choice of tyre place, but I replaced my Bridgestone runflats with Eagle F1 A2s a couple of months back and it's a damn good upgrade.
Handling is still great, but it no longer shakes my bones going over small bumps in the road.

£72 is a crazy amount of money to fit 4 tyres!! Ok so the garage aren't making any profit from supplying them, but that's £18/tyre for a 20 minute job. You should be paying more like £10/tyre.
