Why was the fight fought in Tokyo? It seems a bizarre place, why not Las Vegas or New York? There was no atmosphere in Tokyo. Surely they would have made more money fighting in the US?

"The Tokyo Dome was to be host for Tyson’s 10th defence but if truth be told, it was moved to Japan because none of the Las Vegas or Atlantic City Casinos were interested in staging the supposed mismatch"

Douglas was a 42-1 underdog, it was (supposed to be) a nothing fight

If I remember correctly, they put up a huge amount of money for the fight, something that Tyson couldn't turn down.

Great performance by Douglas as well.

Reading boxing news at the time, Tyson was on his way down long before the actual fight. A lot of clever people made a lot of money betting against Tyson in that fight.
