Hi

We are currently testing a 3XC voip system but are unable to get it working through the Sonicwall TZ210.

Our support company say they have set it up as per http://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/sonicwall-firewall-configuration/ but we are unable to get remote softphones or inbound calls working. The only thing that works is outbound calls from the office.

The 3CX firewall checker fails on all ports but is is mentioned that this will happen in the link. It seems that only ports 5000 & 5060 are open when using www.canyouseeme.org to test the 3CX ports.

Is this a SIP system? Have a look in the Sonicwall menus for a SIP section - there are usually some related NAT or timer options although I don't have one to hand so can't check

Use the packet capture tool on the SonicWALL to see if its dropping the packets. Its in System > Packet Monitor

outbound calls will work due to uPNP however inbound require port forwarding not just of SIP (5060) but also RTP (the actual voice data), see if you can open up ports 16348-32768 (UDP) to your 3CX box and test again. In regards to remote softphones, make sure 5060 is open for reg requests and make sure your 3CX box is bound to both an internal and external IP (even if its shared) this will help with NAT problems. Usually inbound Ringing but no voice is NAT, no ringing or failed Registration (externally) is firewall.
