U.K PS3 pricing

Does anybody know what the prices will be for a PS3 in the u.k.

if they are say $549 in the USA will that make it £549 here (we always get the bum deal)

i really want one (already xbox 360)

The 60GB model will likely retail around £425. We don't even know if the 20GB model will reach the UK.

IIRC the price constantly being stated around here is £425 with no games.

One thing to note is that if you want HD you will also have to spend £25 or so on a HDMI lead. So say £450 with no games.

This price depending on what you want from the console is either good value (its a cheap(ish) Blu ray player) or stupidly overpriced (compared to its direct competition) when used as a games console only.

Last I heard it was £425 for the 60Gb model in the uk with no 20Gb model being released over here. If they did release a 20Gb model though you could probably expect it to be £50/60 cheaper, going by what they are sold at overseas.

I got my HDMI lead from a well known auction site and it only cost me £8.99. I have another one which cost me £25 for my DVD player and I have tried both with the PS3 and see no difference at all - probably because it's a digital signal rather than analogue.

You can import a 20Gb model for quite a lot less than you would be able to pick one up in the uk, but obviousley your wouldn't be able to return it under warranty etc. I find the games are a lot cheaper imported too and you generally get more choice as there are plenty of releases which never come out in the uk..

It depends which rumours you believe, March or September release, a cost of £425 seems a tad expensive compared to £350 in the states, the fact that no online shops are taking pre orders with only 2 months till release and no official price does not feel me with hope of a March release.

Prices are usually fully announced within the last couple of months so its possible we will hear offically an exact price.

Yep i saw the same price, but there is no way ill be paying over £400 for a games console that has no more power than the 360 and no xbox live. <-- not a fan boy just stating some home truths.

And with Forza 2 on the way, my need for GT4/5 HD is beginning to dim

i guess the reason they are not taking pre-orders is that it wont make march release date or if it does they already have too many orders and not enough consoles anyway.

there is no way i will be able to buy one for some months unless i pull my pants down and go to an auction site
