Poor explanation I know but dunno how else to describe. This math symbol is basically a U but has a tail at the top left and bottom right so it looks like how you would right in cursively.

I'm revising fuzzy logic from artificial intelligence if that helps narrow it down, learning about fuzzy operators and though I can guess what it is, I would rather read up and be sure. But I need the name for that and my google searches are not going well!

any more context? other than from an AI course.

Sounds like notation for some set, which would make sense in a logic course.. Could also be used as notation for a uniform distribution i suppose..

For example when discussing fuzzy operators..

A = B (possibility its as A as it is B)

UA=B(x) = 1 - |UA(x) - UB(x) |

I understand what is happening, but its annoying me I dont actually know what the U is as its used basically every sentence for calculations like the above

yeah looks like Mu, doesn't look like it has any effect at all in this case but was annoying me something shocking. Thanks!

Note that "mu" is standard fuzzy-logic nomenclature for "truth value"

Assuming it's actually mu, then i suppose that's what you're looking for. Are the As and Bs next the Us in subscript?
