U math symbol - looks like cursive version, what's it called?

Poor explanation I know but dunno how else to describe. This math symbol is basically a U but has a tail at the top left and bottom right so it looks like how you would right in cursively.

I'm revising fuzzy logic from artificial intelligence if that helps narrow it down, learning about fuzzy operators and though I can guess what it is, I would rather read up and be sure. But I need the name for that and my google searches are not going well!
 
For example when discussing fuzzy operators..

A = B (possibility its as A as it is B)

UA=B(x) = 1 - |UA(x) - UB(x) |

I understand what is happening, but its annoying me I dont actually know what the U is as its used basically every sentence for calculations like the above
 
yeah looks like Mu, doesn't look like it has any effect at all in this case but was annoying me something shocking. Thanks!
