noob here... Sometime in the next few months i will be buying a compact digicam with underwater housing and strobe. The camera will be used mainly for scuba photography but also as a day snapper. The one i've got my eye on is the fuji f31d due to it's low light capability and minimal shutter lag.

Main problem i can see with this cam is it's lack of raw mode. In what way is this going to hinder me as i advance not only with u/w but other photography?

Thanks
:)

RAW is a popular format to shoot in now for correcting minimal errors and giving a true image with no jpeg compression..

I will only say that photographers for many years have been relying on film and jpeg up until now so I would not allow it to hinder you.

Thanks! Think i will go for this cam then unless anything better gets released before i am ready to buy.
