I am seeing severe colour banding when I connect my Dell XPS1340 laptop to the U2311H using the DisplayPort connectors on both devices. I dont see any problem using any other connection. Is this normal with DisplaPort or do I have a problem?
I do not see the banding when displaying my digital photographs using Photoshop Elements etc. However, if I use P Elements to draw a box and fill it with a gradient fill (black to white), severe banding is seen. I also see it in the grey background in Word 2010 and Powerpoint 2010. I also see it on some web sites which have gradient fills as backgrounds.
I find it strange that I have these problems with gradient fills, but no problem with any of my 1000s of digital photographs.
