Going Eyefinity with 3 of these (and dropping Nvidia and their awful surround), and while reading up on them, noticed mention of daisy chaining display ports.

So, does this mean I will need only one displayport output from my GPU(s), and can then run a DP cable from one monitor to the next, and then again to the next?

This will be a godsend if so!

Just recently got triple 27 inch screens, but find it is a bit too much. Tried 23 inch screens before which were much nicer to sit in front of. Will miss 3D, but am tired of the hassle that brings.

Anyway, hopefully can get a quick answer as want to order these in next little while.

That's great.

Less of a rats nest behind my desk.

There's no such thing as a displayport 1.2 cable is there? Will any dp cable work?

Any idea how long the cables are that come with it?

I will likely need to buy a 3 meter one due to my setup, and I already have a short (1 meter or so) dp cable.

Thanks for the cable info. Should be able to get away without spending on more cables... though it would make things slightly tidier getting a 3 meter cable...

Man, had the game on getting these set up using displayport 1.2 and daisy chaining.

Monitors got themselves into some kind of state where they just didn't want to behave.

At first, enabling dp 1.2 on first monitor was fine, then something decided it didn't like it a bit later. Then it'd be ok again, then it wouldn't. Then wouldn't even work using dp 1.1. This happened with all three.

Then it even happened with HDMI!

Think what finally cured it was unplugging monitors for minute or so. Just think they got confused or something :)

Anyway, they are working now (I think/hope), after spending a whole day yesterday trying to get them set up.

But I am a little disappointed with them:
1) They are supposed to be factory calibrated, but using the lagom test, they are all quite different across all the different presets for gamma.

2) One of the screens has small group dead pixels (I know I can get a replacement)

3) One has a section of backlight bleed middle-bottom.

4) And the sides of the monitors don't seem to be completely flat, meaning lined up side by side I have small strips of light shining through - though am sure can just use some tape behind to mask that.

However, the do look sexy, and have managed to get them more or less looking the same colour/gamma-wise.

Edit: Oh, and do have them running 72Hz, but it wasn't easy finding timings that worked across all three. It's not the 108Hz of my VG27AH, but it'll do.

Well, I may be disappointed in that not too happy that two monitors have what I consider to be a problem... however, I may never buy anything apart from Dell in future, as it was so hassle-free ringing up, going through some stuff, and getting two replacements sent out!

Apart from the one monitor having stuck pixels, one of the others has an awful yellow/red tint to it, that no amount of mucking with settings can get it to match the other OK monitor.

I have had the game on the last few days getting these set up and running on my new R9 290's, but I do like them.

It's taken a bit to get used to the matte screen, but it's actually rather nice not having to stare at myself constantly in a bright room :)
