U3 engine.. just realised something

That'll be because Gears of War is made by EPIC and is using the U3 engine;)
Yeah I know, just interesting that Epic published "real" content all those years ago whilst everyone was oblivious :p

PS Yewen it uses the U3 engine. Have you not played it? I would have thought it'd been obvious :p

Thats because Gears of War started out as a tech-demo to show what the engine can do then it developed into the game we have now. (or so I read)

Anyone else noticed the shadow problem with the U3 engine? You can notice it in SP:DA and GoW. The shadows sometimes get very pixelated.

I wasnt oblivious.. PCzone did an article on it several years ago when the first demo vids came out with the big monsters. They asked Epic if the demo content was for anything and Epic said "We dont make content we arnt going to use, what you see here will be in a new game that i cannot discuss"..

So nerrrr! :p

I dont quite see how they look like GOW.
Those first two posted in this thread have more detail in the texture mapping. Not the textures themselves, the actual mapping (whatever theyre using now). And they look v.high res.
