Hi all.

I've got a UAP-AC-Lite, it's been running fine for probably a year and a bit - tonight I needed to check on a wifi device, so I fired up the controller software on my laptop, logged in, and can see the AP, but it says it's 'Managed by other'. Is there a way to take it back on or will I have to factory reset it and set it up again?

I've no idea why is dropped out of the controller software tbh? Is there any other or a simplier way of managing it? I thought I'd be able to simply log into it from any device like other AP's, this setup seems mighty complicated!

Cheers!

This sounds odd. What are you using as a controller? Are you aware that ubiquity had a breach back in Jan? You should have received an email instructing you to change the password for your account.

Sounds a bit beyond me to be honest mate. I guess I'd still have to reset it any right?

Am I better off setting it up in standalone mode next time?

I've recently binned off the controller software on the PC. 'Forgot the device' did a full reset and then setup using the app on my phone.

I don't need remote control. It's an access point that dumped upstairs, I'll never ever need to remotely manage it!

I was using their software on a laptop. I wasn't aware of the breach! Seems all too common these days - I'll change my password now, thanks!

I've done the same thing now! Seems like the phone app will do what I need it too :)

Just felt like the easiest option for me. The whole controller thing on the PC was overkill for what I'm using it for.

The App seems simple enough. Allows FW updates too so yeah. All seems well
