On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. ET, the House Intelligence Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation Subcommittee, chaired by Congressman André Carson (D-Ind.) will hold an open hearing on unidentified aerial phenomena. Following the open portion of the hearing, the subcommittee will hold a closed, classified briefing.

I listened to the Event Horizon podcast which had one of those senators on and it was like an episode of ancient aliens..

If this is going to be representative of the hearing, I am not holding out for any hope, you might as well listen to Tucker Carlson.. Those pesky green triangles buzzing our warships..

I'll give it a listen anyway!

No it's not. It's on at 13:00 GMT.

This is one of the reasons I detest BST, people don't understand the difference between GMT and BST.
I read between the lines on this..

But oddly as much as I'm told I'm almost OCD in my attention to certain technical details, this one I'm happy to just ignore.

If I'd said that in work, I'd have had the usual retort "Can you show me on the timezone doll where it touched you?"

Checks thread title
"UAP / UFO Hearing, it's on at 1pm BST (Corrected by master Feek)"

Err.. you mean 2PM BST or 1PM GMT.. :D

Jesus this is tedious.
They can barely use VLC player let alone identify a UFO.
They've basically said that it's the short comings of the identifying technology that is making people believe that the objects aren't always what they seem. In most cases they're drones, animals or spy planes.
What a waste of time any rational person knows that.

If I wanted to watch it and switched on at 14:00 GMT as per the original thread title, I'd have missed an hour :p

Worse, things like the green triangles got debunked/recreated by youtubers etc within hours of the footage being released, it was amazing to think something so trivial as a triangular iris fooled the Pentagon for so long..

Even how it's being described shows a complete technical lack of understanding and I wonder if someone that technically illiterate makes a good spokesperson.. I just wanted to use the frame advance feature in VLC for them..

But nothing earth shattering, I see some fishing as if they want admission of 'defying the laws of physics'..

God, the Navy generals or whatever they are look embarrassed to answer some of these question, the Senators are asking such stupid questions that they are struggling to formulate an answer without telling them they're idiots.
This is embarrassing imo. Why is this even happening or do they do these things all the time but this one has just been publicised because of the nature of a UFO?

lol

I imagine UFO talk is an absolute nightmare for senior military officers, they're likely busy doing actual work - yet they keep getting hounded by lunatics who think that lens flare is aliens, and they demand an immediate explanation and full disclosure. If the generals ignore it - they're doomed, if they say anything - they're doomed and accused of running a conspiracy.

For anyone going to watch this, don't bother. I'll break it down for you into a few lines...

Senators : Have we found UFOs
Navy : Yes
Senators : Why?
Navy : Because why can't identify the object
Senators : Why?
Navy : Because either it's short comings of our equipment or the people making the reports.
Senators : So no aliens then?
Navy : We don't know we can't identify the object. But no.
