Uber referral code question

My girlfriend is travelling for work next week and wants to (finally!) sign up to Uber to get around. Bearing in mind she will be using it for work, if I give her my referral code am I right in thinking her discount will be automatically applied to her first trip? Is there any way to apply it to a journey of your choice -- i.e. not a work trip? :confused:

And can I do the same? I probably use Uber for work more than personal, but obviously I want to use the discount myself.

Pretty sure you can chose to use your "free journey" in the payment options, so you can chose to use it when you like.

think its £10

£5 is the minimum charge for any uber journey.

When i did it aaaages ago it was applied to my first journey. Luckily it was a 10.32 journey

When I used my £10 introduction ride a year or so ago it was taken from my first ride without any choice,

I think it's only £5 off now in the UK. Well, I guess it's worth her trying to at least get me £5 off which I can use for ourselves.
