I’m looking to upgrade my Wifi. I currently have Virgin Media 1 Gig Internet Package. I’m having a few issues and want to upgrade to get better Wifi Coverage.

I was looking at the Asus Zen Wifi AX system from Amazon it’s £560. I was also considering getting a Ubiquiti System using the Dream Machine and some Wireless Access Points. I can’t hard wire them as I can’t run cables due to hard flooring people fitted.

Any recommendations would be great it’s a Semi Detached House:

6x Smart Phones
6x iPads
4x Smart TVs
2 Virgin TV Boxes
1x Google Home Hub
2x Amazon Fire Sticks
3x Laptops
1x iMac
1x MacBook Pro

I’ve previously had an Asus RT AC68U so I don’t mind them. I have never used Ubiquiti but I’ve heard it’s excellent so any advice on them would be great.

Or should I just pay for the ASUS. Thank you

The Asus has a dedicated radio for backhaul/meshing, whereas the Ubiquiti WiFi 6 Mesh does not. If you knew you couldn't hard wire the APs then I'd buy a product specifically designed for wireless meshing, which means the Asus.

Thanks very much for the reply. I’ve never used Ubiquiti products, so I thought I best ask. This is the ASUS product I was looking at:

ASUS ZenWiFi AX Whole-Home Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 6 System(XT8), Coverage Up to 410sq m/4400sq ft/6+ Rooms, 6.6 Gbps WiFi, 3 SSIDs, Life-Time Free Network Security and PS5 Compatible, 2.5G Port. 3 Pack https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08MYTJ...t_i_GN91CP93RKD33FB9DNZ3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I’ve seen this but I can’t seem to find if you can buy the Mesh separately:

Ubiquiti AmpliFi Alien AFI-ALN WiFi 6 Tri-Band Wireless AX Router with Additional Meshpoint https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09B7LQQ8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_0A7XC1VDQ5VK8FD6JDGW
