Ubiquiti UniFi Switch USW-FLEX-XG 10G M PoE+ - Switch

Hi,

Trying to connect a Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Pro Acces Point Wifi 6 via PoE and I get no power. I've tried multiple different cables and all ports on the router. Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks mate. I thought the - in the title meant it could do + and -. Is ny best bet to buy an injector any other 10 g port you would recommend that can do PoE to power a device.

You do know the U6 Pro is only 1GbE?

I’m running one cable over the roof (into centre of house) so need a 10 gig hub I can plug my pc into too. Then one for the WiFi point.

Think I’m just going to do this properly. Get a small server cabinet can put my nas in there too.

What would you recommend happy to spend what makes sense. The dream machine?

Think I will send it back. It initiallly worked perfectly, then post an update the router was throttling my download, tried different cables, factory reset all the same. Any ideas?

Using router 700/2400
Using cable straight to pc 2400/2400

Thanks mate - don’t worry I love the sale. Going to order the below. Assume I can then rack it too.

Just so I understand the adapter allows me use the 10 gp port on the udm se to make a 10 gig connection to the flex which I can then use for wired 10 gig.

Assume the u6 can go straight into the SE as Poe as it doesn’t need the speed

UDM SE
USW-FLEX-XG
SFP+ to RJ45 adapter to take the 10GbE LAN port on the UDM SE to a port on the USW-FLEX-XG
U6-Pro access point powered and connected direct to the UDM SE

Any idea why my current flex would be throttling my download and not upload.

Thanks again mate

Sorry - yes switch.

Weirdly it was working perfectly then I updated the switch and speed dropped (download only) Using Speedtest.net but the same on all.

When I move the cable from switch directly to pc. Same speed test, same cable. No issue.

I’ve done a factory reset too.

I will order that tomorrow, ok if I double check the list before I press go. Get the fun of picking a small rack too.

Speed test sites are notoriously unreliable once you get above a few hundred mb. Some of their servers only have 1/5/10gb connections and you’ll not be the only one using them.

The reason you get a download /upload difference is because the vast majority of home connections are not symmetric but the server will be.

Imagine 30 people with 100/30 connections are using that speed test server and it has a 5gb connection and you come along with 2.5/2.5, there wouldn’t be enough bandwidth to do the download at full speed but there would on the upload.
All makes sense. The part I can’t explain is I do 10 in a row (with cable directly to pc) all over 2.2 gb. With the switch, all 10 runs less than 500 mb.

Might be one I just need to over.

Ok if I run list by you tomorrow before I order?

Thanks again
