Ubisoft and Delays

I refuse to buy Ubisoft games, ever since I bought AC and it was the buggiest peice of crap I've ever had the misfortune to play. Along with being treated like a criminal for actually buying one of their games, they won't get my custom ever again.

The Windows edition of Assassin's Creed: Revelations is apparently delayed, and is now expected on December 2nd in Europe, a couple weeks after the console versions of the stealth/action sequel

Every Ubisoft title of these last few years has been delayed

Still waiting for them to remove it from the latest Settlers game so I can try it, supposed to be a return to form. Ah well, their loss, I've got lots if other games to get through.

Ubisoft claim their PC sales are down 90% so I doubt much of a future for the PC with Ubisoft! Did not realise there were so many pirate scum around guess I was wrong as the 80% mentioned means PC gaming will shrink & lose more support from publishers :( 40-50% of PC games being played are pirated is a pretty poor statistic.

Oh of course. Because there PC game sales are down 90% it means everyone turned to piracy. Couldn't possibly be because nobody wants to buy the games either because they're crap, they're bad ports or they're packed with horrendous DRM.

If they had any way of detecting whether '40-50%' of people were using pirate copies they'd be pressing charges not pulling random numbers out of there arse.

Well said, However AWPC does have a habbit of blaming anything and everything on piracy.

p.s There DRM has actually made things far worse, plus factor in the return's for From Dust.

Quite true. It's just an easy excuse used on the board of directors / shareholders.

Psst, Ubi, really, it's the quality of your work and DRM that have harmed your sales. Pirates will pirate it no matter what you do, stop ******* off your actual / possible paying customers. Or just concentrate on console shovelware, not really bothered any more.

Piracy on today's biggest PC titles can be as high as 80 per cent, Eurogamer learned.

Crappy DRM makes me

After the last couple of Ubisoft games I've bought, AC 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction, they can shove their games where the sun don't shine. So they can delay as many games as they like and include all the pointless DRM they like.

Gone are the days were I actually care about games release dates.

Being a PC gamer I wait for a month or two after release and pick it up at a bargain price and when they have usually patched out the initial bugs and problems. I avoid a lot of dissapointment !!

however :p

The one ubisoft game on pre-order is Heroes of Might & Magic 6, loved the previous versions and after a month or two of playing the very polished and fantastic Closed Beta I will defo be purchasing.

In all honesty how can anyone listen to UBIsoft's delay announcements with a straight face, it's not a delay if it was never going to be released at the same time as the console versions, it's a postponement due to greed.

Console versions make more money than the PC version even with the same number of sales, The gaming press would never say that ubisoft has postponed the release the same with Arkham city Square enix has postponed it to maximise console profits.

Whether their stats are over exaggerated or not, even if "40-50%" are pirating, that still leaves 40-50% that have just stopped buying their games entirely! That should be telling them enough about what people think of their DRM!

It's not just DRM that stops people bying their games.

PC versions of their games don't exactly set the world on fire in terms of optimization.

Both Splinter Cell Conviction and AC 2 run like crap on good PC's, but it's their overall attitude to PC gamers as a whole that stops me from handing over my money.
