ubisoft new low prices on selected titles on steam

The price of POP is a joke you can pick it up for £5 in the shops, its reasons like this i hope we never go fully digital.

They're not too bad for steam, but yeah, a rip compared to just going out and buying them. I do like the digital format, but when I see things like peoples accounts getting hijacked and banned I worry about losing the massive investment that's already gone into my account and many others. There should be more account protection for steam imo.

Verify the account and don't be stupid. Simples.

I do the same as that with other accounts that I don't value though. I feel like there should be something more, people who aren't being stupid still seem to get their accounts hacked from time to time. Unlikely, but I think there's definitely room for improvement.

Short of retinal and/or biometric scanning what exactly do you propose...? Afaik *very* few accounts are actually hacked by force these days because its not worth the effort when you can just shove up some random phising site and have a bunch of greedy idiots give you there login details. You can guarantee almost all steam account hackings are the users fault, or at least someone who used that computer.

And i think Ubisoft seem to have mis-understood the point in the 'pack' offers. The Heroes pack is at £30... with 0 discount. Way to go Ubisoft, really on the ball.

Retinal scanning? It's not a swiss bank vault! I have a pin pad type thing for my barclays account, I think that's a good idea for an extra layer of security, makes it more difficult than just getting someone's password. It wouldn't work exactly like that for steam, but a similar opt-in system for a small fee would be decent to protect my investment.

They should have at least a secret question / answer combo in addition. Or some kind of insurance. I'd easily pay £5 a month or so to guarantee that my games will always be available even if someone else hacks the account or whathaveyou.

Buy at least one physical disc for a steam activated game - keep activation code and use it to prove ownership if needed. About my only redeeming reason for having bought AvP...
