Copyed from that link
At around 8am GMT, people began to complain in the Assassin's Creed 2 forum that they couldn't access the Ubisoft servers and were unable to play their games. Fast forward ten hours and it seems that the problem still hasn't been resolved, despite the assurances from a Ubisoft representative that the servers were 'constantly monitored'
10 hours and the problem still not been fixed...
on a sunday when most people will want to and have time to play there new game as well..

That crazy...

Why does everyone find it so funny that they still can't find a way to stop pc piracy? At least they are trying.
A lot people belive all this DRM/CD-keys etc type stuff is to put a stop to the secondhand game market and have very little to do with stopping piracy ;)

They know they can't stop piracy..But they also know they can stop there being a secondhand PC game market..

"95 per cent of players were not affected, but a small group of players attempting to open a game session did receive denial of service errors,"

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/08/ubisoft_anti_drm_hack_attack/

So apparently only 5% of people were affected by this DDOS attack as they claim now.

I smell BS in this.
What the bets they didn't even have a DDOS attack and it was just there servers that couldn't cope with the load or something...

Saying it was a DDOS attack could be just an easy way for them to shift the blame to someone else..

I couldn't register as the registration servers seemed down or intermittant

finally managed to register after 30 minutes

got into game

then I had to alt-tab to read an email - game disappeared - so had to restart it ..

and now can't get back in as cannot connect with the authentication server (DRM) aaaaaargh

I really want to buy this game badly...(I even started a thread a few months ago http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18097340 )

But all these DRM problems being reported are really putting me completely off buying it..

Well, according to Ubisoft: "Due to exceptional demand, we are currently experiencing difficulties with the Online Service Platform. This does not affect customers who are currently playing, but customers attempting to start a game may experience difficulty in accessing our servers. We are currently working to resolve this issue and apologize for any inconvenience."
They can't make there mind up..

One minute there sayiny it a ddos attack and next there saying it's Due to exceptional demand

I've got the first AC game on Steam and I'm sure they had AC2 listed as a pre-order title for months. Now theres no mention of it (which prompted me to have a peak here on the forums). Unless I imagined it.

Until AC2 is on Steam and behaves like all other Steam games, I'll wait! Shame though, was really looking forward to AC2.
AC2 still on steam..http://store.steampowered.com/app/33230/

But not available to buy in the UK yet
