Whereas EA is usually cast as a corporate industry villain, Ubisoft isn’t normally quite as persecuted. Before this, their most memorable controversies involved overly-intrusive DRM, but now? They’re being painted as the face of everything wrong with modern gaming, from deceptive marketing to recycled concepts to crass monetization.

In an open-ed that was published on Forbes, author Paul Tassi called Ubisoft the new EA, referring to the latter’s reputation for releasing unfinished games and adding free-to-play microtransactions in their full-priced products.

Strangely, a community manager on Ubisoft's forums has singled out AMD CPU and GPU configurations as causing graphics performance issues, even as users of Nvidia graphics cards have experienced plenty of their own problems

Ubisoft not only lost control of the conversational space about Unity, it’s now suffering the backlash of being perceived as trying to manipulate gamers into buying a game before the review hits. Forbes went so far as to call Ubisoft “the new EA”, which is hilarious given how generous EA has been with early Inquisition review code.

Seems Ubi have done it again, same old crap. Truly hateful company.

Not according to console gamers, just look at them lapping it up for Farcry 4. I can see why they hate PC gamers
