Ubuntu 10.04 freeze prob. Maybe it is a software issue??

Ok sorry for the new topic about well the same thing really. Could it possibly be my browser (Firefox 3.6.10) or a plugin I have for it? That would just freeze the app. and not the whole system, right?

So a app. wouldn't cause a system wide freeze, didn't think so, just asked to make sure.

I got 2 2 gig sticks to replace 1 bad 2 gig stick around a month back. My dad has mostly the same system all but the monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 2433ww), USB headphones (Plantronics), USB joypad (Logetech Dual Action) & USB mouse (MS Intelimouse), he has had 8.04, it never froze. I had that version also freeze on me before installing this version (clean install). I also remember seeing a message about SuSE 11 freezing & that is the same kernel right?
