ubuntu 64 bit or not

If you don't then some of that ram will go to waste, not that its really needed in linux anyway, but still...

There may be some more teething troubles than with x86 though, can't really speak from experience as i've got 32bit on my laptop for compatibility really

I have been runing 64-bit Ubuntu since Edgy [6.10] and to be honest the problems are very, very few.

In fact, the only major issue I have had is getting Flash to work, but I found a workaround to that and all is good.

The only real piece of advice I can give you, which is from another forum member [sorry, can't remember who you are] is "If you have to ask, you don't need it".

Still, if you go 64bit you can always run Folding@Home on that bad boy :D Full guide in sig ;)
