Hi all,
I've got a SATA drive split into 2 partitions with XP on it as my primary drive. I then have a 20GB IDE that i've installed Ubuntu 7.04 onto. During the install, I got the disk manager to use the IDE drive and setup default partitions, and then put Grub in the default location ("(hd0)"). However, I'm not presented with the Grub menu on boot.

I then tried to set it up using boot.ini in Windows by capturing the first 512 blocks of the Ubuntu drive, sticking it on my C:\ drive and adding it into boot.ini as is well documented. However, this hasn't worked. I'm thinking it might be the most simple to reinstall Grub on the MBR - how is this done from a LiveCD?

Cheers,
Matt

Do a google search for 'SuperGrub CD'.
Its a boot CD thats only job is to do a few common Grub operations.
Like re-installing Grub.
