With the release of 7.04 today, and ubuntu.com's webserver apparently crying itself to sleep under the load of all us geeks refreshing it. I was wondering if any of you guys knew a decent mirror for the release yet?
The previous release candidates have a critical bug in them that stops it working on my motherboard. The bug has only just been fixed in time for the final version, which is why I've been looking forward to Feisty final so much.
Nah, they're all getting less than 3kb/s, as are nearer ones geographically. I'm trying the torrents but the tracker is throwing an error saying the torrent is unauthorised, which is odd.
[edit] Sorted, FTPd it down to a mates colo at a few MB/s, and am downloading it from there at my connections max speed.
Ok call me an idiot and slap me, but isnt ubuntu.com still showing 7.04 as being released tomorrow and there is no option to download 7.04...
I got up early before work to download it today as well
might sound stupid this but i recently isntalled the previuos version on my old pc, now im n00b when it comes to all things tux so is it a simple upgrade to latest version or a compleate re-install the best bet?
Get all the latest updates and restart if necessary. Once done there should be a message at the top of the Update Manager window asking if you want to upgrade to Feisty.
It may take a few hours to complete and you also need an internet connection.
Its running on my mini mac which also uses EFI booting. There is one issue with the macbooks but its all in the wiki entry - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook
