Ubuntu 8.10 Sound Problems

Hi all, just installed the X-Fi drivers in the above OS, but still have no sound (and yes, my speakers are plugged in/turned on). Not got much else to go on as I don't really know what I'm on about when it comes to linux, so was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

You'd probably get better responses to this question at the official Ubuntu forums. There'd be more people who've played with the new X-Fi drivers.
