Ubuntu and Codecs/Java/Flash

The main thing stopping me using Ubuntu before was getting Codecs and other stuff working easily.

I now have found some straight forward advice for it and thought I'd share:-

EDIT - Thought it was going to be easy but its still a bind installing something to get divx to play...

any reason 9.04 doesnt find the plugins after searching?

Ive installed all the Gstreamer stuff and it all looks good. thanks.
