I'm a complete beginner when it comes to linux; I have a load of spare parts that I'm putting together into some kind of cheap and quiet web browsing box. Rather than buying a new license for windows I thought I'd give Ubuntu a try, so I downloaded 8.04 and tested it by running off the live CD.

So now the bit where I need the help. Tonight when I come to install it fully am I better off using the USB wireless stick I have free or swapping it for the PCI card I have in my other setup?

I've read the instructions about using NDISWrapper and they seem straight forward enough, but I'm worried that a USB device will make it more complicated. Can anybody offer me some words of wisdom?

Cheers,
PK!

Urm as far as i remember both should work fine (usb vs pci doesnt seem to cause much hassle either way)

A much better point is to use the one with native linux drivers (ndiswrapper is a pig!). If you dont know what chip set each one has then jut try the live cd on both and see if wireless is automatically detected. If neither are i strongly recommend getting a card that has native linux drivers (just for ease of use)
