ubuntu audio help

im using a live cd on my laptop (full spec here)

Audio

Built-in Intel® High Definition audio compliant audio chip
SoundBlaster Pro Compatible
Built-in stereo speakers (1.5W)

but im not getting any sound from it so any help would be much apd !!!


most up to date live cd possible just downloaded it today

a random guess, but try opening

alsamixer

and turning the volume up?

volume is max still no sound =S
