Ubuntu & Bluetooth

Fine for me as well. What specific issues are you having?

Phone wont connect lots of times but it easily connects to a friends laptop with windows.
All you can do with it afterwards is swap files. cant find any apps that do anything and actually work.

I love Ubuntu but it really gets me down when you lag behind the rest of the world. I know I could take up programming but that's going take another several years too.

Bluetooth on my Xubuntu box works better (quicker and more reliably) than both my Mac Mini and my Windows machine. And I didn't even have to do anything to get it to work.

you'll need the manufacturers software for your phone in order to sync contacts with it. it's not ubuntu's fault that the manu's don't release their software for linux.

not blaming Ubuntu for anything. The blue tooth connection isn't good is what i'm getting at.
OEM release very little for Linux but still loads work OOTB.

On my Kids WinXP computer i can connect easier, i can sync everything except contacts, i can use my phone as a remote control, i can swap app/files plus more.

Ubuntu i can swap files, thats it. I cant find any info online to help me do more with it. There must be some out there.

Would be nice. its a WM6.1 phone, know of any apps? I have bluetooth headphones too. Know of any apps i can use them in Linux?

I don't have any experience trying but your problem is right there. It's Microshaft. Other than someone hacking together some software with a little reverse engineering, no way will they let you do more advanced stuff on Linux with your WM phone.
