Hello,

Just getting to grips with Linux so I do not yet know how to solve issues without some additional help.

I have a Dell D400 laptop, nice compact machine.

When I close the lid of the laptop Ubuntu will hang. It's just a normal install of 7.10, I haven't done anything else other than a fresh install.

I am left with a black screen and the mouse cursor. The only thing I can do is to hard-power off.

I have played with the power settings and tried "Do Nothing" on lid close but the same happens.

I did try some Googling and some people said that the issue could be related to ACPI commands from the graphics card?

Any ideas or advice much appreciated. If you need more info, perhaps some logs or something let me know where to find them and I will post them up :)

I have managed to fix the issue by adding a line to the grub file menu.lst and also to the file blacklist in etc/module.d/

Next problem, mouse. Seems a bit slow even though it's on top-speed and top-sensitivity.
