Hello everyone. So I have a new laptop coming tomorrow (DELL Latitude) and I will be installing a w7 Pro ubuntu dual boot.

My music library I listen to through itunes at present. It's in a mis-match of formats, I think mostly mp3 though.

How do I best go about listening to my music when in ubuntu? Automatically I would have the music in my w7 partition in my music. Would it be easy to play music from there when in ubuntu or would I be better off having a third partition just for music?

The default music player is Banshee. You can import songs from any folder into the library. Should be totally seamless. I believe you can also import your itunes library directly into Banshee but Ive never tried this.

So it won't have any problems with the files being on the Windows partition then? I just tell it the drive name and the folder and it'll be happy despite their being an OS there?

Happy days if so :)

No problem at all - linux will see the windows drive just fine. Bear in mind that windows wont see the linux drive so best to store your music on either the windows partition or a separate partition entirely.
