Hello,
Trying to run the netbook remix on my old Fujitsu Amilo Pro V2030.
It will boot from USB but then brings up a error saying b43/ucode5.fw not found.

I have no idea where to start and threads I've found on it aren't idiot proof!
Any ideas where I should start looking or even what on earth it means?

That's your wireless card. It's not supported by the linux kernel, but is using nonfree firmware, which can probably be found online, and you then tell the installer to load it. That's just restating your error code really.

Wireless can be quite hit and miss under linux if support isn't built into the distributions kernel. I'm a bit surprised that it's giving up on the installation rather than cheerfully installing a copy of Ubuntu that can't access any wireless networks. Changing distribution a couple of times until one happens to recognise the card may be an easier approach.

I was running from the USB drive before taking the leap into installing.
Would you suggest installing it and then getting a wireless driver?
Would like to stay with Ubuntu as from what I've read its a good beginners one.
