Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 vs Xubuntu 13.10

Which of these systems would be better, for someone who never used linux before? It's going to be installed on multimedia PC, that my parents mainly use.

Spec:
AMD 640 athlon quad
DDR2 4GB 800mhz ram
Intergrated graphics
WD Blue 500GB

I don't like mint (I've tested out mint 15), debian is another system which wasn't what I was looking for.

Currently testing out Ubuntu GNOME 13.10, I like it so far.

Mint is *buntu with the Cinnamon desktop environment on top and some pre-installed tools and codecs. You'd get the exact same result installing Gnome 3 on Mint. Just in case you weren't aware.
