Hey guys, I have a laptop that I really dont use as much as I used to so I thought it would be great as a dev machine.

Specs:

i7 2800QM
8gb Ram
500GB
555gtm

The problem I'm facing is whenever I try to install 3rd party drivers namely for my GPU the graphics cards all fail. However without it, it seems to be max'ing out my GPU even with nothing running, leading to a loud and hot machine.

I know I'm a noob but any help would be awesome, just think your getting some poor lost soul of windows ;)

Edit: I download the exe install file and just run it inside of windows to install the Ubuntu files needed, was very fast.

Update, I really cant get this thing to work properly it seems the secrutiy updates keep breaking my driver. I have tried uninstalling all the drivers but now I cant get my wifi to work at all. I will try find a cable and use a wired connection to set up everything its proving a right pain :(. The OS its self is really good and the shortcuts are amazing can really see it as a great machine.
