ubuntu screen

i'v set up dual boot windows xp and ubuntu, and when i change my monitor settings for xp to be perfect, on ubuntu the screen is to the left by 1cm too much and i was wondering can i use ubuntu to shift it to the right by around 1cm becuase i remember doing something like that on open suse ages ago...

change your refresh rate within ubuntu to the same as you have in windows, should sort the problem!

could be a refresh rate problem...set your refresh rate the same in windows and linux.

also install nvidia/ati linux drivers instead of the generic ubuntu drivers

ummm it seem to fix it self after i installed the restricted drivers for nvidia...
