Ubuntu server edit? LAMP

Going to kill our windows server this afternoon and install Ubunto Server edition on there.
Wil this be automatically set up as a LAMP or will i have to get the AMP bits seperatly?

Yep, it's an option on the main menu when you boot the installation CD... or at least it used to be in older versions and I'm assuming this hasn't been removed since.

Ubuntu Server edition is command line only.

This. Got to love screen, especially when you're stuck on a Windows box with cygwin's tab-less window.

I have installed the desktop. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop.

So would ssh and gnu-screen not work with this?

Also is there any links to instructions on how to work these

I Got the server working with a static address last night , could ping it and view it from another computer. turned server off, came in this morning and turned it on but now i cant ping or find it from another computer
