I finally got tired of Microsoft's slow creep in the wrong direction for privacy and installed Ubuntu Studio as my daily. It doesn't seem to have the telemetry of the main Ubuntu branch and my audio interface routing works. I'm not new to Linux but it's been a good 15-20 years since I messed around with Arch. It's been 2 days of messing around linux style to get things the way I want which has made me appreciate how things are easier to set up on Windows. It's mainly crap like numlocks status not being the same after a reboot, wine shortcuts needing to be manually messed with. I was going to go with EndeavourOS but I think I'd need to spend a lot more time messing around with that!
Some how I managed to get my my RME Babyface and Neural DSP VSTs working low latency via wine/yabridge/carla which was the thing that had been stopping me previously. So far all of my windows only programs are working via wine (foobar2000, Pop Peeper, iLok, Neural DSP etc.) Nvidia drives seem to just work but I haven't really tested it with anything of note. Gaming will be a see as I go deal.
