ubuntu utorrent ?

anyone got utorrent running successfully ?

ive installed and config'd wine, and installed utorrent, however when i run it i get this...

"no application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this type of file"

and i cant go any further...

any ideas ?

Any particular reason you've chosen uTorrent rather than the myriad Linux-native BitTorrent clients?

It works very well under Wine 0.9.16 (especially with µTorrent 1.6), but versions previous to 0.9.15 might have issues or not work at all. There are some minor bugs.

What versions are you using?

Also there are many native Linux torrent clients, lightweight and heavy. Why not use one of those?

i have ubuntu 6.10 with gnome, dont think i have kde ?

I had it running fine in Wine, but I could only get it to grab a torrent by using a browser in Wine (Opera in my case).
